The Tale of Nokdu does something no other Korean Drama has ever done before and does it well. The Tale of Nokdu premiered this week on KBS2, replacing ‘I Wanna Hear Your Song’.
Set in Joseon, the Tale of Nokdu follows the story of Jeon Nok-du (played by Jang Dong-yoon) who disguises himself as a woman to enter a women-only village. He is out to find out the secret behind the village and the mystery behind why they wanted to assassinate his father.

There’s always a first
And ‘Tale of Nokdu’ features the first time the male lead takes on a role to swap genders and disguises himself as a woman. In my opinion, the actor does it pretty well, though it must have been tough to act out all the scenes where he had to keep his voice as high-pitched as possible.
Even though the premise of the show looks REALLY GOOD, Jang Dong-yoon is too handsome to realistically portray a woman. His jawline is too distinctive. However, maybe if the stylists put down his hair, he would actually really look like a girl. Just my two cents, haha.
